This month saw the entrants delivering a very successful final event. My name is Chelsea Sutton and I am one of the lucky seven entrants in this year’s quest.
On Sunday the 7th of October Wagga’s biggest cruise ship sailed into town for the MWWQ Bingo afternoon. We had a great number of attendees who dressed up for an afternoon on the sand. Thanks to the Commercial Club, we were able to create our own cocktail, ‘The Cruise Liner’, which was a hit with the guests! Over the course of the day the entrants called out over 800 numbers and listened to the amazing Samantha Riordan sing and play the Ukulele.
On the 10th of October, entrant Bonnie Jackson-French and Miss Wagga Zoe Martin, attended Bunnings Warehouse’s Guinness World Record attempt. This was World Mental Health Day, a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy. Sometimes that has a very special place in my heart and I’m sure the hearts of many others. The world record attempted to see the most people wearing a ‘Hi-Vis’ vest to shed a positive light on Mental Health.
Later in the month, entrants had the nerve-wracking task of completing their mock interviews with members of the MWWQ committee. The Leisure Company were kind enough to lend us their spaces for these to take place. Congratulations to all of the girls because I know we all would have done a fantastic job. Bring on the second interviews in late November.
This month we also finished up our raffles at the Union, thank you so much to the Union Hotel for supporting our Friday night raffles and to everybody that supported the quest by purchasing a ticket.
It has been a quiet month as entrants wrap our their busy year together and prepare for the Crowning at the end of November.
Kind Regards,
Chelsea Sutton
