The 2023 Miss Wagga Wagga and Community Princess
Miss Wagga Wagga - Kate Pevere
What was meant to be a “quiet year” for me, became a very busy year of growth, friendships and opportunities. A year I will never forget. It is still a very pinch me moment, but I’m so honored and excited for what is to come, and to represent this community as Miss Wagga Wagga 2023.
I personally became an Entrant because I wanted to raise money for local charities, I got this, and so much more. Through the hard work of all 7 Entrants, we exceeded our fundraising goal and were able to give back to the community we all call home. The benefits of the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest reach above and beyond raising money for charity. While the impact of the funds raised for the community will be felt far and wide, the awareness of these beneficiaries and the development and growth within us as Entrants, as evident as it already is, will only continue to become brighter as time goes on. The strength and selflessness of the Wagga Wagga community I witnessed throughout this year has blown me away. The friendships I have made along the way with the Entrants, committee and community, I will cherish for a long time. I don’t know if you’re ever 100% ready for what the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest will give you, but I do know that the support that you have throughout will ensure you get so much more than you realise out of it. We have been presented with so many opportunities that I otherwise would never have seen, and I can’t wait to see what our year as Titleholders has in store. |
Community Princess - Haylee Burkinshaw
At the beginning of 2022 I was quite lost and in desperate need of guidance, that is when my boss came to work saying “I’ve done something”. That something was signing myself into the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest and becoming my sponsor for this next chapter in my life.
I had no idea what to expect but knew it was a process I was ready to trust, and I am thankful every day. The Miss Wagga Wagga Quest has shown me the lengths our city goes to show welcoming support and empowerment to all within our community whether you live here or are just passing through. The Miss Wagga Wagga Quest is a journey that has taught me perseverance, confidence, empathy, gratitude, friendship, and the strength that comes from female empowerment. |
