MWW & CP 2023 - Blog Number 5 - March

As the weather started to cool, the month of March also brought us the chance to meet the new entrants. We are so excited to be able to see the journey that the entrants go on throughout the year from an external perspective, having had the joy of being in their position just 12 months ago. As they learn to work together, speak confidently on radio and to organise and host a range of events. Mr Lawrence was generous enough to allow us to use their facility to host the first personal development session for the Entrants as we set them up for the year to come with all the information and answering any questions.

If there was one bit of advice we could give as titleholders, it’s to never be afraid to fail. The beauty of the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest is you are set up for success through the initial personal development sessions and are always supported by the other Entrants and the committee. No one ever wants to see you fail, everyone at the events is cheering you on, and you’ll find that even if you make a mistake, it’s never a failure, but a lesson learnt.

This monthly Citizenship Ceremony had a very special moment, as a large number of the Burmese community all pledged their oaths and received their Citizenship Certificates on the same day.

Finishing the month of March, Kate attended the inaugural Pitch Up Wagga Wagga event. The event was supported by Quest Sponsor, Macarthur Real Estate, and saw 3 local charities pitch their missions and receive pledges from the community. It was incredible to witness the generosity of this community to support everyone within it, especially those that have been dealt difficult circumstances that you would never wish on someone else.

It’s a busy but rewarding role acting as titleholders and we are presented with so many opportunities that we otherwise would never see. We are very excited to see what the rest of the year holds for us.
