MWW & CP 2023 - Blog Number 6 - April

We started April off with a bang, dressed in purple superhero capes and masks, as we made our way to Lake Albert in support of people living with Autism and raising awareness. From The Incredible Hulk’s, to Wonder Woman’s, so many turned up for the Superhero Walk organised by the Wagga Autism Support Group, and put one foot in front of the other in the beautiful sunshine, all for a great cause. We felt very lucky to be able to choose the winners of some best dressed prizes, but the real life talking Lightning McQueen was the showstopper of the day.

April saw some very important moments for the 2024 Miss Wagga Wagga Quest, as we joined the Entranta for their dining etiquette personal development session hosted at HIDE Steak & Bar. The food was absolutely divine, and we cannot thank Jamie and the team enough for their generosity, if you’re looking for a special evening, you can’t go past HIDE at their new location!

With the personal development session at the start of the month, the end of the month we witnessed the 2024 Entrants be officially introduced and receive their sash and badge at the 2024 Miss Wagga Wagga Quest Official Launch night. All of the ladies should be incredibly proud of themselves for taking this opportunity and speaking so well during their first public speaking event, addressing the question “What Wagga Wagga means to me”. This night also gave us as titleholders the opportunity to MC an event. A big thank you to Lindsay Tanner for generously giving his time and advice to host a personal development session for us as titleholders on MC’ing an event.

We were humbled to be invited to lay a wreath for ANZAC day and represent all involved in the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest, past and present, and show our respects for those that have served and given the uptime sacrifice so we can have these opportunities and freedoms that we do. After both starting the day early at the dawn service, Haylee also assisted the Uranquinty Hotel that afternoon with their ANZAC day celebrations.

Kate enjoyed a nostalgic visit back to Kooringal High School to participate in their Teachers v Students Trivia night and pick the best dressed winners. Haylee attended the Pro Patria Day Opening Day, incredible to see after learning so much about the fantastic work that they do and are aiming towards assisting veterans, first responders and their families.

It is safe to say, we are 6 months into being 2023 titleholders and no week has been the same. It is still presenting us so many opportunities that we would never have had otherwise. We are so excited the see the growth of the Entrants and to find out what events they will be hosting this year!
